Mo Mile Kids Run

The Mo Mile is a free event for students age 12 and under, held on Saturday, May 16 at 9:00 AM – the day before the Steel Rail Races.

• Students age 6 and under will register for the half mile run.
• Students age 7-12 will register for the one mile race.
• Runners can pick up their bibs at Berkshire Running Center 8:00 AM  to 8:45 AM on Saturday, May 18 before the race.
• The run will begin at 9:00 AM with the half mile run for the younger racers, immediately followed by the one mile run.

   Course Time Limits

This is a Boston Qualified Certfied  Marathon Course and both marathon and half are USATF certified 

Course Time Limits
The time limits on the course are set to comply with the road closures.

 Our permits allow us to have race permit for 6 hours from the marathon start. Support on the course follows road closures starting at 10:30 from the turn of the marathon and the clocks will end promptly at 1:00pm for all participants.

Marathon cut off for race support on the trail:

 (You absolutely may continue with your run, just be aware the race support comes off the course at the following times )

Turnaround at Mile 14.5 by 10:20AM

Rt 8 Crossing at Mile 21.5 by 12:00PM

Important Bib Information

• Your bib must be placed on the front of your body, clearly visible to race officials.
• Please fill out the back of your bib with your race information and emergency contact
• Please do not bend or alter your bib as the timing chip is on the back

• Prizes will be awarded for overall top 3 male and female in each race, and for top finisher in each age category (0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+)

Directions | Parking

The Marathon, Half Marathon and 8K all start and finish at the Adams Visitor Center located at 3 Hoosac St in Adams MA. 

THERE IS NO PARKING AT THE VISITORS CENTER HOOSAC ST AND DEPOT ST will be closed for traffic and parking.

There is however, plenty of parking withing a short walk to the center. 

Runners and spectators are welcome to park in any legal spot on the main roads adjacent to the race.

North Summer Street, Park St and Commercial St have parking all along the street all within 1/4 -1/2 mile walk to the Adams Visitors Center. You can find something there or easily up along one of the very many side roads.

Please DO NOT park in local businesses lots or the Churches as it is Sunday and they are welcoming us as guests to their town.  You are all athletes; you can walk a few extra steps to keep the world spinning happily.  Be early and find a sweet spot and everyone will be so joyful. 

Toilets & Water Stops

• There will be porta-potties at the start of each races as well as the state restrooms at the trail start, there are DCR bathrooms at  Farnum’s Crossing, and the RT 7&8 parking lot approx mile 13.  There will also be a porto at the mile 7 and Farnum Crossing on the trail.  
• We encourage you to bring your water vessle to fill on the course, there will be volunteers to serve water and Gu-Brew a liquid electrolyte similar to a gatorade starting at mile 5.5 
• There will be water stops at approx mile 2 , 3.5, 5.5,7.5,,9.5,13.5, 15.5,17.5,19.5,21.5.23.5.25.5

Runners & Spectators Please Note

The Ashuwillticook Rail Trail is not closed to the public during this event.

• Runners MUST be aware that there will be others on the trail, cyclists, skaters, etc.
• Headphones are potentially hazardous on a bike path as you are limiting your ability to be aware of what is around you, course marshals, bikes, and other traffic. For reasons stated we discourage the wearing of headphones.
• Wheelchairs and other disabled push strollers are welcomed. To help accommodate your needs, please contact us and let us know you are coming and we can help with any accommodations you require.
• Please. Baby strollers are not allowed.
• Please. Dogs are not allowed.

Spectators
The best place to watch and cheer your runners is at the start & finish at the Adams Visitors Center, or the many road crossings along the course.

SPECTATORS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CROSS THE FINISH LINE AND ENTER THE CHUTE TO FOLLOW YOUR RUNNER. Please kindly understand this will be strongly enforced.

The Fine Print

Refunds
No refunds under any circumstances, including event cancellation or postponement.

Events are planned and paid for months in advance of the actual date. IF our event is canceled or postponed because of weather, pandemics, or other forces beyond our control, we won’t be able to provide refunds. In these rare situations, we’ll convert the race to a virtual one and mail you your full race goodie bag.

Due to regulations changes may be made to the course or race details for the safety of our participants and staff. Any changes will be communicated prior to the event via email, on our social media platforms, and on our website
