OFFICIAL RULES FOR PARTICIPANTS

  1. The CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge is open to teams of employees of corporations, businesses, government agencies, educational institutions, not-for-profit corporations, and financial institutions. Clubs, unions, political, social, athletic, and similar organizations may not enter their members or volunteers. Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners Club (HMRRC) shall make company and employee eligibility determinations. All decisions will be final. Verification of eligibility must be provided upon request.
  2. All team members must be employed by the work-place they represent.
  3. Summer employees, per diems, temporary staff, and part-time workers are eligible to participate.
  4. Team members must be at least 16 years of age as of the race date.
  5. There is no limit to the number of participants per employer. For team scoring purposes each male team must have four men, each female team must have four women, and a coed team must have two men and two women.
  6. During the race, all participants must wear their assigned bib number, clearly visible on the front of their torso. Bib numbers must be displayed in full view and may not be folded or cut in any way.
  7. All team members must participate unaided. Roller skates, skateboards, in-line skates, baby joggers, ski poles, walking sticks, and animals are strictly prohibited anywhere along the race course. Their use will result in disqualification of the individual runner and may result in team disqualifications. Only registered participants are allowed to participate in the event. NO children. NO baby joggers.
  8. Each runner may be placed on only ONE scoring team for your organization. For example, a female runner may NOT score for both a female and co-ed team.
  9. Due to the large number of entries to be processed, all teams and team members acknowledge that entry applications that do not qualify under these rules, whether or not they have been accepted initially by the Event Director or other race official, may be rejected by the Race Committee either before or after any race, and those teams and/or team members may be disqualified.
  10. HMRRC reserves the right to delay, postpone, cancel, or not officially time the race in the event of adverse weather conditions. The determination of what constitutes adverse weather conditions is reserved solely to the Race Committee. Entry fees are non-refundable even in the case of event cancellation.
  11. HMRRC reserves the right to make additions, changes, or modifications to these rules without prior notice to teams or team members. HMRRC will endeavor to advise teams of any rule change prior to the race, but any such change shall be considered binding upon all teams and team members whether or not a team or team member received notice prior to the race.
  12. All rules are subject to interpretation by the Event Director and Race Committee. All decisions of the Race Committee are final.
  13. HMRRC reserves the right to reject or disqualify any participant or team whose conduct is inappropriate to the spirit of the race. Individual disqualification may lead to the disqualification of the entire team and/or company. It is expected that teams and team members will represent their company/employer in the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge in a sportsmanlike and professional manner.
